Embrace Your Inner Child

‘Hold the hand of the child that lives in your soul. For this child, nothing is impossible.’ - Paulo Coelho

The inner child is deep within each of us as the memory of the child outgrown.

This child is within us at all times and should be nurtured and treasured every day.

Your inner child just needs an invitation from your inner adult to come out and play. And play it will, leading you to a happier more meaningful life along the way.

When you free the inner child you free the adult also.’  -  Oprah Winfrey

Inner child work is so important as it is the way for us to reconnect with those wounded parts of ourselves: the child within at all the ages any traumas happened.

And almost every one of us experienced some aspect of trauma as a child too – so never feel you are alone in this.

As we reconnect with those wounded, fragmented parts of ourselves, we are able to begin to see the basis of so many of our fears, insecurities and so many areas where we are self-sabotaging our lives. Meeting and healing our inner children is when and where true healing begins.

Visualisation can help neutralise the past and create the future. You can imagine speaking to the ‘inner child’ part of you that has been taught to believe in limitations and tell her or him about the new reality of abundance and prosperity you are creating.

Old limiting programs from your childhood can be holding you back because the beliefs you formed about life at an early age affect you as an adult. Many people live their lives through their childhood wounds without realising this, so by replacing old negative beliefs with new positive affirmations can be transformative. Like any new skill they must be practised and practised until they become second nature.

Your subconscious is a million times more powerful than your conscious - so it’s worth taking the time to get to know what is stored in there. You can be running on old programmes from your childhood that you might not even be aware of that are actually hindering you from having a fabulous life now!

A butterfly is a perfect symbol of the beauty that occurs when you undergo life changes. The metamorphosis unfolds after a long period of darkness, isolation and struggle in the cocoon - and life can similarly feel dark and lonely at times. Yet these darker experiences are what lead you to new strength. Change is what gives butterflies wings to fly and it can do the same for you!

I have worked with many amazing photographers and they all have this saying that we develop from the negatives - and we do!

Being self aware is key to becoming the master and not the slave of your mind. With meditation, affirmations and visualisations, and questioning and understanding our inner child programmes we can be, do or have anything we want – no limitations!

You need to feel worthy of a prosperous life. So work on your subconscious mind and route out any resistance - that’s where inner child work can help.

‘’Children love to be alone, because alone is where they know themselves and where they dream.’  -  Roger Rosenblatt

So allow your inner child to come out to play.

Take time to do what makes your inner child jump for joy.

Recreate moments that you loved as a child,  like swimming, rounders, tennis or just having fun! This will help you to re-connect to your inner child.

Go exploring.

Express your creativity.

Be curious and take risks.

Forgive quickly and tell the truth.

Revisit your childhood and share your childhood with your child.

‘The way we talk to our children becomes their inner voice. So choose your words wisely as it is easier to build up a child than to repair an adult. ‘  - Dr. Joe Dispenza

Sing and dance like nobody is watching or listening!

Because the body heals with play, the mind heals with laughter and the spirit heals with joy.

Remember - the subconscious mind believes whatever it’s told - so be kind to you and get to know and nurture your inner child.

Have fun!

Namaste.

‘Be happy for no reason, like a child. If you are happy for a reason, you’re in trouble, because that reason can be taken from you.’  -  Deepak Chopra

I will be teaching inner child work as part of my program in workshops from September 2018 – details to follow.
